We get stung, so you don’t have to!

Our family.  Nina, Kai, Irina and Ross.  Kelly Livingston, Nina and Kai’s cousin, and the one who gave us our first beekeeping equipment, is on top left!

Home

Our family started keeping bees in 2012 when then 8 year olds Kai and Nina discovered a bee colony in our back yard in a jasmine bush soon known as the “Bee Bush” with first one swarm, then others, settling there and which we put into hives.

Since then we have studied bees to understand how to live and work with these interesting animals.

Today, we are still amazed at our colonies’ productivity and their ability to provide us, our friends, and now others, with natural products from their hives.  Fresh honey has no substitute!

We keep our hives using accepted management techniques for control pests such as Small African Hive Beetles, Tracheal Mites, Varroa Mites, and Wax Moths.  Vegetable Oil traps, Crisco patties, powdered sugar, lots of sunshine and teeming strong hives are our best medicines.

The honey we bottle is raw - not heated - and strained - not filtered - so it retains the flavor and nutrients bees put into it!  It is an artisanal product, not “factory” honey found at some chain stores.  We hope you enjoy it.

The Queen is Always Right!

A bee swarm, like the one above, when treated well, will grow into a strong hive like this one and give you great honey!
